ZoomInfo Integration

Administrators turn on the ZoomInfo integration and choose how Account and Contact records are enriched. Records can be enriched manually, with a ZoomInfo widget in the record form, or automatically, whenever a record is created or updated

Overview

Pipeliner now connects to ZoomInfo through the Automation Hub. Administrators turn on the ZoomInfo integration and choose how Account and Contact records are enriched. Records can be enriched manually, with a ZoomInfo widget in the record form, or automatically, whenever a record is created or updated. Enrichment fills in empty fields only, so existing data is never overwritten.

ZoomInfo in the Automation Hub

A new ZoomInfo item appears in the Automation Hub under the Automation category.

Adding the item opens a side panel. Administrators then need to sign in to ZoomInfo and authorize the connection there.

ZoomInfo also appears in the Automation Hub Analytics and Logs.

Configuring ZoomInfo enrichment

The configuration dialog has two sections - Accounts and Contacts - and each section has two enrichment options: Manually and Automatically. Both are checked by default.

Both options apply when a record is created and when it is updated. An info message explains that records are enriched automatically after creation and after any later update. When Automatically is checked, a filter becomes available. The filter limits which records are enriched.

Manual Enrichment

When Manually is checked, the Account and Contact creation dialogs show a ZoomInfo widget.

Before any search field is filled in, the widget asks the user to start typing:

ZoomInfo widget before any search field is filled in
  • Contact: Start by filling in Primary Email, Contact Name or Account Name

  • Account: Start by filling in Home Page or Account Name

The widget searches ZoomInfo each time a relevant search field changes.

It shows a searching state, then either a "no matches" state or a list of matches.

Contact matches are sorted by accuracy score and last updated date. The widget shows up to 3 matches without a scrollbar.

Each contact shows name, job position and company name (in italics).

Each account shows name, website (a clickable link) and country.

Users can select the matching record by clicking the box

Form prefill

When a new record has exactly one match, the widget selects it and prefills the form with its data. A banner at the top of the form shows the prefill.

With several matches, the user selects the record to use.

  • Users can undo the prefill or fill the data again from the banner.

  • Selecting a different match removes the earlier prefilled data and fills the form from the new match. A closed banner appears again.

  • Closing the banner clears all prefilled data and unselects the match in the widget.

Record detail

The widget works the same way on an existing record. It searches when the record opens. On an existing record, the widget never selects a match or prefills data by itself, even if there is only one match. If the record is already linked to ZoomInfo and the linked ZoomInfo record is in the results, the widget selects it.

Automatic Enrichment

When Automatically is checked, Pipeliner looks for the record in ZoomInfo after each create and each update. If the record was enriched before, Pipeliner uses its saved ZoomInfo link. Otherwise it uses the data already filled in on the record.

  • Contacts: results are sorted by accuracy score and last updated date. The first result is used.

  • Accounts: a match is used only when ZoomInfo returns exactly one result.

For a record that was not enriched before, Pipeliner links it to the ZoomInfo record and fills in its empty fields.
